That certainly does appear to be an oil bath hub. The seal number is associated with 1956 to 1959 Studebakers as far as I could find. It looks like the dimensions of the seal are 1.875 inches inner diameter and 3 inches outer diameter. We have one seal that has the dimensions, # 29031, but it is a grease seal, not an oil seal.
The bearing # 1779 is associated with race # 1729. They fit hub 22834 which from what I could find is not an oil bath hub. The inner bearing that is associated with... view full answer...
